Installation and upgrade:
Just install the runtime and copy the .app (application) and the .htm (Htm-Help) somewhere on the machine (I would suggest: /Windows/Start Menu/Programs ).
Both in the same directory.
The program will copy the help in the correct directory at first start.
It will not create a link to the program in /Windows/Start Menu/Programs anymore
Older versions of the program and shortcuts can be deleted. This has no influence on the working of the program
.

Features:
Calculations are done while typing
You can add, change or delete currencies with Edit.
You can select or sort currencies with Select.
You can import currency data with Import.

Limitation:
The unregistered version has:

• a startup screen, please wait 5 seconds
• the options are not working.
• all changes made with the tools are not remembered

The working of the program is simple: Just tap a currency and edit it, the program calculates all currencies on the screen.

Index

You can set options for decimals or lefthanded numbers with Options.
You can add, change or delete currencies with Edit.
You can select or sort currencies with Select.
You can completely reset the database with Reset.
You can import currency data with Import.

In the registered version you can choose for 2 options:

On the left side of the screen you will find the currencies that are not selected.
When no currencies can be selected the list will not show
On the right side you will find the selected currencies
You can replace currencies from left to right by selecting the same number on the left and on the right
Automatically the replace button will appear, when the right number is selected
Click the Replace and the currencies on the right with be replace with the currencies on the left and v.v.
When only one currency is selected on the right side UP and DOWN buttons will appear.
Click a button to move the selected currency up or down
The unregistrered version will not make the changes permanent

On the left side you can select a currency to add, change or delete
When a code is entered that did not exist in the list it will be added
Apply or DELETE buttons will appear when appropriate.
You can not delete currencies that are selected for calculation, but you can change them
Only after pressing the OK Button the changes will be written to the database
The unregistrered version will not write to the database

Importing data is made possible for registered users. The file that should be downloaded can be found at http://www.smartbits.com/Edmond/PocketPC/GetCur.asp.
This file has a specific format and should not be changed. Changing this file will have unpredictable results with the import fuction.
The file will contain 160 currencies and is updated daily.
This link will bring you to a screen, where you can type in the E-Mail address that you used while registering.
After pressing the "Download" button, your E-Mail address is verified and the download is started. Save the file currency.ecu in a folder from where you can copy it into your PocketPC
Ofcourse you can also copy it in a folder from where you do file synchronization.
E-Currency Converter will look for files called *.ecu in your "My Documents" folder and subfolders.

The import function has 4 options, that can be remembered for the next time you start the import
If you select the "Remember the last choice" option, you will get a new option "Automatic Import at Start".If this option is clicked and a valid filename is selected at the last import, the program will look for currency.ecu at the last location and if the file exists, the program will automatically import the file into the database according the pre-selected options.

The import screen will show the last valid full filename that was used for importing and it will show what date was used to update the database.

The imported currencies will be imported into the database and from there selected for the calculation screen.
The options are:

• Only EURO Currencies
  This option will replace the complete database with only the 13 standard EURO currencies. Because these currencies are fixed amounts you can use this option without a downloaded file.
• Replace cur in database
  This option will replace the currencies found in the database, it will not add any other currencies and also any "user defined" currencies are not updated.The option is preferred when you have more then 13 currencies that you use often.
• Replace selected cur
  This option will replace the database with the 13 selected currencies that you have on the calculation screen. No currencies are added and no "user defined" currencies are updated or removed. This option is best used to keep the database small and when 13 currencies are enough for you to work with.
• Import all currencies
  This option will replace the database with all 160 currencies from the downloaded file, Only "user defined" currencies that are selected on the calculation screen are kept. "User defined" currencies that are not selected but are in the database will be removed.

The more currencies the database contains the slower the program will run. Unfortunately the Version 3.0 of the PocketC runtime is a bit slow in selecting from tables or from large arrays.

With this tool you can reset the database and the program will be restarted
All work will be lost and the database is filled with the standard 13 EURO currencies
